TT Balm - Original blend

TT Balm by Taylored Tallow is an all purpose ultra moisturizing herbal balm that is suitable for all ages and all skin types. It can be used on broken/irritated skin. 

100% Grass fed and finished pasture raised hand rendered beef suet from organic farms provides skin with nourishing vitamins such as A, B, D, E & K. Tallow is rich in minerals like choline, selenium, potassium, potassium, phosphorus. Tallow contains healthy saturated fats and omega acids such as conjugated linoleic, stearic, oleic and palmitic acids that are present in the skins sebum. These are moisturizing, anti inflammatory, antimicrobial  and can heal skin damage. 

The highest quality tallow* is blended with 100% cold pressed unrefined coconut oil* and our proprietary herbal oil blend which includes dried calendula flowers*, lavender blossoms*, and broadleaf plantain slowly infused with 100% avocado oil*.

Coconut oil is soothing to dry and irritated skin as it is also high in fatty acids. It helps to decrease transepidermal water loss that is triggered by conditions like eczema, rosacea or dermatitis. Lauric acid makes up 49% of coconut oil and has antimicrobial properties that can help mild skin lesions. 

Calendula in skin care can help soothe everything from inflammation to dryness while being gentle enough to use on sensitive skin. Calendulas anti-inflammatory properties come from the flowers flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoids. These can have an antihistamine effect.

Plantain leaf has historically been used by herbalists for a number of skin conditions including wounds, inflamed skin, dermatitis, insect bites or stings and eczema. It is high in immune boosting vitamins A and C. The astringent properties from the high tannin content can reduce inflammation by depriving bacteria of nutrients. Plantain leaves are used to stop bleeding, and has a very strong drawing ability for removing stings, bites, splinters etc. A compound found in broadleaf plantain called allantoin soothes skin and encourages new cell growth. It is also used for sunburn relief and various rashes when applied topically.

Lavender is another herbal skin ally. It is used to control dryness, and improve circulation by adding oxygen to the skin cells. The natural antioxidant and antimicrobial properties can clear bacteria and excess oil while neutralizing and refreshing the skin.

Avocado oil used in our tallow balms is 1/2 companies tested to be 100% pure avocado oil. The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil can help replenish dry skin, shield skin from ultraviolet radiation and protect against skin damage from free radicals. 

Sourcing from farms we trust is the most important factor when formulating our tallow products. Organic pasture raised suet from local humanely raised animals creates products that are free from any harmful ingredients. Herbal ingredients are homegrown or locally wildcrafted when the season allows for it. Other times of the year they are sourced from sustainable organic farms.
